The Office Staff
Business manager and Dr. Hoekstra’s wife, Traci is an East Texas girl who attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She worked for many years in the legal field, but being a lifelong animal lover, was thrilled to leave the corporate world behind and join Dr. H in building and running Animal House Veterinary Hospital. Little did she know what was in store for her! Like Dr. Hoekstra, Traci is very proud of Animal House Veterinary Hospital and their wonderful staff.
Traci is an avid gardener and “do-it-yourself” person, and when they aren’t at work, she and Dr. H are always working on some sort of project. She is also an artist from way back. When at the office, their dogs can usually be found under her desk.
Trisha is a true Texan. She was born in Kingwood, raised in Houston, and settled down in League City. Although new to the veterinary field, she has a special love for animals and has worked with both small and large animals her entire life. Trisha is the proud owner of 3 dogs: June, a Treeing Walker Coonhound; Bear, a Terrier mix; and Buck, a German Shephard/Lab mix; 3 cats: Maverick, Shadow, and Yoda and lots of pet fish in her 2 fish tanks! She enjoys spending time with her family and furbabies. In her free time, Trisha loves outdoor activities, especially fishing and swimming.

Front Office Supervisor
Roxie was born in New York but raised in Texas. She married a New Yorker in 2004 who has earned his right to be called a Texan. She and Todd have three beagles (Jaxson, Molly, and Trinity). Molly and Trinity can often be seen helping out at work, greeting as many people as possible if they aren’t too busy napping. Roxie has been in the veterinary business since 2007. She enjoys all of the furry creatures. They don’t ask for much, except to get a little love, get some food, play tug of war, get some cuddling, eat some house plants, (did we mention more food?), eat a pair of eyeglasses, steal your cell phone and hide it in pieces in the yard… and so on. “The unconditional love that my pets give me is what keeps me in this field; I can see it in the people and pets that come in every day.”
Mel was born in Shreveport, Louisiana but spent most of her life in Texas. She graduated high school in 2006 and immediately joined the Veterinary field in June of 2006. She has two children, Jesse and Emily and three dogs; a 2-year-old Chihuahua, a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Min Pin mix, and an 8-year-old Pit Bull mix. In her spare time, she enjoys anything outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and of course football!
Jamie joined our team in May 2016. She has worked in the veterinary field for many years. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their three children; Haylee, Trenton, and Bella. She also enjoys playing with their fur babies Lexi, Browning and Hank. Some of her more exciting times have been spent shark fishing with her husband. He is an avid fisher and especially enjoys the thrill of shark fishing. Jamie also grew up around horses and has participated in competitions for several years.
The Veterinary Technicians
Adriana (Ed) grew up between Mexico and the United States. She is fluent in Spanish. She joined our Animal House family in the fall of 2011. She's lived in our area for about 6 years but did move away for a short time to Oahu, Hawaii. We missed her when she was in Hawaii; but are so glad that she is back home. Her mother also lives in our area and cared for Ed's fur babies while she was away. Ed is the proud mother of 2 Dobermans, Luna and Calvin. She recently had to say goodbye to her childhood friend, Bobby. He was her 15-year-old dachshund. We all miss him, as well. Some of Ed's hobbies include surfing, being in the water, photography, and loving animals.
Tiffany was born here in Houston Texas but was raised in south Texas in a very small town in the country. Tiffany loves doing anything outdoors such as camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, mudding, kayaking and paddle boarding with her dogs etc... just a good O' country girl. Tiffany grew up on her family's farm which instilled good hard working values in her and some skills to be able to handle and take care of animals. This was a perfect up bringing for her since she has loved animals as long as she can remember. Tiffany was always caught handling strays or trying to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife which scared the crap out of her family but they were never able to discourage Tiffany from staying away from dangerous things. This passion only grew stronger which brought Tiffany to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver Colorado to receive her Veterinary Technician License in 2004. Tiffany interned at a mixed practice in Golden Colorado which included small animal, large animal and exotics. Tiffany was able to travel up into the Rocky Mountains to observe and assist the veterinarian with helping people keep their stock healthy such as elk, bison, variety of deer, alpaca's and many other exotic wildlife as well as horses and farm animals. Tiffany has tried her skills in Veterinary Emergency medicine, day practice, specialty referrals, rehabilitation and exotics. Tiffany LOVES them ALL. Tiffany was born missing the lower part of her left arm due to the umbilical cord wrapping around it, cutting the circulation off. But due to her mothers influence of strong Christian values and relationship with Jesus Christ, Tiffany has been able to flourish with anything life throws at her. Missing part of her left arm doesn't seem to stop her from doing anything she puts her mind to. Tiffany is broadening her horizons and interning with a licensed wildlife replicator in hopes of becoming one as well. Tiffany has been married to her wonderful husband David for over 13 years now. Tiffany absolutely adores her step children Trevor 18 yrs and Rachel 19 yrs which live with them as well.
Amanda joined our team in October of 2018. Even when she was a little girl, she knew that she wanted to work with animals. Her veterinary career started back in December of 2002, and she has continued to expand her education through CE courses and online training. She has a 19 year old long haired calico cat named Mystique that she treats just like a fur child. When she is not working, she enjoys being outdoors hiking, riding her bike, or even flying a kite. Her absolute favorite outdoor activity would be anything that involves water.
